Best of British

Northampton Concert Band performing at the Holy Sepulchre
Northampton Concert Band will be performing an evening of music from Great British composers on Saturday, March 2nd in 'Best of British'.

In their first concert of 2013, this 40 strong band of woodwind and brass musicians has been working hard during rehearsals to bring some new music to their repertoire for the busy year ahead.

In selecting the music for this concert Stephen Bell, Musical Director, said: "We wanted to celebrate the vast array of music that is British born. We have music from Elgar and Holst to more modern composers like Elton John and John Lennon. We are also performing, Northampton born composer, Sir Malcolm Arnold's English Dances (Set 1) and many more."

The concert will be at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Sheep Street, Northampton, NN1 3NL on March 2nd, 2013.
Tickets are £10 and can be purchased online through our Tickets page or by calling 01604 459790.

New for 2013 - Deputy Musical Director

Northampton Concert Band rings in 2013 by appointing Neil Brownless as their deputy musical director.
This is after Neil took a successful rehearsal during late 2012 while their usual MD, Stephen Bell, was taking a well earned break. Usually Neil can be found playing trombone with the band.

Neil gained experience directing different music ensembles whilst at Portsmouth University where he studied for a Maths degree.

We all wish him well in this newly created position.
