It's been a while since Northampton Concert Band have performed a Christmas concert, so this year you're all invited to our Christmas Party!

An evening of festive music, family favourites and a few carols to get you all in the holiday mood.

Featuring: Sleigh Ride, Troika, Mamma Mia!, Hairspray, Fairytale of New York, Skyfall, When a Child is Born, Highland Cathedral, Ukrainian Bell Carol and many more.

Gold award at National Concert Band Festival (Midlands regional) 2013

On Sunday 17^th November, Northampton Concert Band achieved a Gold award at the National Concert Band Festival midlands regional heat in the Community Wind Band class under the baton of Stephen Bell. On giving the award, Sean O’Neill, one of the adjudicators said, ”You gave a very musical performance, capturing some lovely colours within the band and the energy and excitement of the music”.

Following the event Stephen Bell, musical director, said “The band played magnificently. The energy and musicianship was awesome. The whole band worked very hard for this and it’s good to know how well we’re doing. I’m very proud and it’s a great way to bring 2013 to a close.”

You can see the band perform in their next concert at 7pm, Saturday 7^th December at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Kettering Road, Northampton as they perform a selection of Christmas and family favourites in their "Christmas Party" concert featuring Mamma Mia!, Skyfall, Sleigh Ride, Troika, Oliver, Fairy-tale of New York and much more.

Ticket prices: Adult £10, Concession £8, Child £5. As a ‘Thank You’ to all of the audience members who have supported the band this year they’re offering £1 off tickets brought before Sunday 24^th November. Free Concert - Friday 15th November - All Welcome

For the past few years Northampton Concert Band has entered the National Concert Band Festival for which the Midland regional heats take place in Northampton. As part of our preparations for this year's event we are holding an hour long free concert where we will perform our festival pieces as well as preview some of our Christmas programme for the Christmas Party concert in December.

The free concert will be held at the Main Function Hall of the Cripps Recreational Centre (NGH), Cliftonville, Northampton, NN1 5BD at 8pm Friday 15^th November. Entry is limited to first come - first served. A bar is also available.

Parking
Car parking charge near the Cripps Centre is 50p, Follow the signs for 'Car Park 2' and 'Cripps Recreational Centre', The parking meter is near the entrance to the centre.

During the summer we ran a survey of our audience to find out if we we’re giving you what you wanted and where we can make improvements. As an incentive completed surveys were entered into a free prize draw to win tickets to the ‘Last Night of the Proms’ themed concert at the Holy Sepulchre church, Northampton, Saturday 28th September, featuring Northampton Concert Band and the Cantare Singers.

Your chance to win 2 tickets to a 'Glorious' night out!

Northampton Concert Band is seeking the views of their audience to help them plan for the future as they approach their centenary in 2019. Their online survey hopes to gather those views to feed into what could be a shake-up of what their future concerts will become as well as where they perform and the ticket prices they charge.

Stephen Bell, Musical Director, said: “Our last 12 months have been very successful but we should always look to the future and make sure we are giving value for money. Having an audience is very important to a performer. It is only fair that we listen to them in return.
 “We’re looking to our audience, and our future audience, to tell us what they want.”

As an incentive, Northampton Concert Band has 2 free tickets to a “Last Night of the Proms” themed concert on Saturday 28th September at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Northampton. With a wide range of music performed by Northampton Concert Band and the Cantare Singers, the evening climaxes with the patriotic songs of “Rule Britannia” and “Land of Hope and Glory”.
